We’re an innovative, technology driven business with a focus on domestic appliances. Founded in early 2019, our business has seen continued growth over the past 12 months.
The Service Site team includes a network of nationwide domestic appliance engineers, backed up by our administration, business development and marketing experts. To offer a higher level of service, many of our operations are handled by remote, off-site teams, all of which are seamlessly connected using the latest technology.
What we are achieving
As a company our main objective is to use technology to improve the efficiency of the repair industry and the experience of customers requiring a repair. By bringing repairs closer to engineers, we deliver savings for consumers that will encourage repair of appliances rather than replacement. We hope to keeping more appliances out of landfill by improving response times, reducing travel time for engineers and enabling efficient and seamless service for larger clients such as insurance agents, property maintenance companies and landlords.
We believe that repairing an appliance is a choice many people make because it is resourceful, efficient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly.
However, due to changes in consumer buying preferences over the past decade, domestic appliances are becoming cheaper and of poorer quality. This means more and more consumers see these goods as ‘disposable’ rather than ‘repairable’, and this is having a big impact on our environment, and the repair industry. We are trying to change this.
Typically, consumers will consider replacement when the repair costs are around half of the appliance’s value.
UK consumers are discouraged when looking to repair large domestic appliances due to high cost of repair versus the cost of replacement.
The small (yet attractive) savings a consumer can make by replacing a large appliance (full of plastics, rubbers, chemicals etc.) comes at a great cost to our environment. It can be tempting to give up on your appliance when there are promises of free delivery, lengthy guarantees and flashy new buttons from all the leading retailers.
Do the right thing. Whether your a consumer looking to repair an appliance, or an engineer repairing appliances, working together we can make a difference to improve the lifespan of appliances nationwide.
How we are achieving it
We keep three important factors in mind for the consumer that considers us for a repair:
Urgency – We must get there quickly, otherwise replacing is a quicker solution.
Experience – Repairing must be a pleasant and trouble free experience for our customers. Otherwise, a seamless click/collect/install is more attractive.
Price – We’ll help to keep the costs down for visits where an appliance can’t be repaired, so customers are not deterred from exploring repair as an option in the future.
We must help to improve the marketplace for domestic appliance repairs. In order to achieve this we are developing a strong nationwide network of independent engineers and our ambition is to achieve the largest most complex network coverage in the UK.
By having more engineers, we can provide faster service, at better prices. The closer our engineers are to each repair location, the less fuel, time and travel is made, which is not only great for the environment, but also helps to minimise costs for consumers in order to further encourage repairs, and helps empower independent engineers with more localised and efficient routes, which means they can carry out more repairs per day, thus influencing the supply and demand of repairs.
By choosing to repair your appliance with Service Site LTD you are helping us to achieve our aim of helping the UK to reduce white good waste, and help busy households to keep their appliances in tip-top condition, without the hassle they may have experienced with other providers.
